1611 King James Bible First Edition
Original page, 1611 King James, 1st Edition, He Bible, “Pulpit Folio” size leaf measuring approximately 15 to 16 inches tall by 10 to11 inches wide, printed on cotton rag paper.
Accompanied with Certificate of Authenticity.
New Testament Title page reads:
"THE NEWE Testament of our Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST. Newly Translated out of the Originall Greeke: and with the former Translations diligently compared and revised, by his Majesties speciall Commandment. IMPRINTED at London by Robert Barker, Printer to the Kings most Excellent Majestie. ANNO DOM. 1611. Cum Privilegio."
The first editions were known separately as ‘He’ and ‘She’ Bibles, because of typeset errors found in Ruth 3:15. ‘He’ Bibles contained the phrase “he went into the citie” and the ‘She’ Bible read, “she went into the citie”.
